How to spend your time with baby!

You've got a glorious 12 weeks off – probably the biggest chunk of time you've had since summer vacation back in school. How to make the most of your maternity leave? Here's what the new mommies had to say:

Find a mom’s group or baby and me yoga class -- even if you arrive late and a mess, you’ll appreciate the change of scenery and the time spent with other new moms. Celebrate the most basic accomplishments: Just sneaking in a shower is something to be happy about!

Go out to dinner a lot! That new baby will be portable – and will sleep tons in the first couple of months. Take advantage!

Take lots of naps.Go off work email and voice mail completely – focus on the baby.

Use nursing time to read – this is a brilliant way to do something for yourself while you’re doing something for baby.

Get out and about w/ the baby – don’t stay cooped up

Pump – (right after you first feed baby in the am, when you have the most milk) so you have a freezer full of milk when you go back to work.

After a few weeks make sure you and dad go on a date. A real one – where you wear a dress.

Celebrate the most basic accomplishments: Just sneaking in a shower is something to be happy about!

Schedule some “me” time – hand the baby off to a sitter or your partner occasionally and get a haircut, go to a movie, whatever. Consider keeping a journal

– It’ll be hard to look back and remember what you were feeling at the time.

Forget housework, laundry, cooking -- just cuddle!

Limit visitors -- this is your one-on-one time, so cherish it and be selfish.

Oooooh, hanging out with baby is the best!
